Youth Sportsmanship Program
Purpose:
With the increasing problems and incidents involved in youth sports today, the Hugoton Recreation Commission is implementing a sportsmanship program for their youth programs. This program is designed to give participants, coaches, and spectators, the information, materials, and guidelines for demonstrating good sportsmanship at HRC activities. HRC hopes to accomplish this by promoting good sportsmanship through promotional materials, awards, and educational information to those involved in the youth programs. HRC will also recognize outstanding sportsmanship on a quarterly basis to teams exhibiting desired behavior. From those teams, a yearly winner will be selected to be the HRC outstanding sportsmanship award winner and nominee to the state level.
The overall goal of this sportsmanship program at HRC, is to assure that our communities children have a safe, fun, and stress-free sports environment.
